Another gem by Agatha Christie. This one features Superintendent Battle. Re-reading the whole oeuvre in order, I am struck by how good she was right from the beginning. This one is the 10th book she published, and only one dud in the lot.

I love early Christie novels; they read like P.G. Wodehouse books with dead bodies added in.

The resolution was a little underwritten, though — things were HAPPENING, and then instead of a really good, gripping reveal, we got ten pages of exposition.

I really liked the characters and the twist in the end was very surprising, all puzzle pieces made a lovely puzzle and it all clicked in the end.
