Gave it 4/5 just because the characters are so fcked up and I like it. And because my love for Tarryn is up to the heavens. But story wise, meh. I'm still waiting for something explosive but until the end, there wasn't much. Marrow is still the best TF book for me. I expected too much.

Well that was a true mind fuck. When I want messed up characters and a twist that I don't see coming, I go to Tarryn Fisher. She never disappoints. Fig is a truly messed up person but that what was no surprise when you read the synopsis. I waited so long to read this book because I had a hard time wrapping my head around a woman who is trying to steal someone else's life. However this book is straight up kooky-dukes. ALL of the characters are messed up but Fig and Darius are truly heinous. Poor Jolene is just there caught in the middle. She's not perfect, she has her flaws, but she is a fundamentally good person. And poor Mercy Moon who has no idea. AND THAT ENDING. What the heck. 4 out of 5 stars!

The twists and turns! Really just love how the layers of this thriller were revealed with a multi-POV

I didn't think I'd really care for this book in the first few chapters but once I got into it, it really sucked me in. I had a difficult time with the time line between the different points of view, but the craziness kept me interested enough to not care that I was confused. This is definitely one to check out if you have a thing for stories featuring psychopaths.

I didn't like this book? I think? But at the same time I couldn't put it down and finished it in a day.
First off, was not a fan of the writing style. Way too disconjointed and kept throwing me out of the story at first.
Second, I assume the author was trying to be clever with the George story line, leaving it out from Fig's point of view to show how narcissistic she is, but then putting it in Jolene..
But it just came off as confusing and like really bad writing and it took me some googling to figure out what was going on
Third, this book started out as Fig intent to step Mercy... And that dropped off right away... It had no storyline, no arc, just no point. Too many plot points used once and then never reexamined, like the maxed out credit cards and the wire transfer to Paris. So not a fan.

I read this for around the year in 52 books challenge #13 read a book recommended by one of your favorite authors. I chose Colleen Hoover as my favorite author and on her goodreads page she recommends this book. The story is told in 3 POVs. First POV Fig she's a married woman who can't have any children. She keeps trying but miscarrying. One day becomes obsessed with a little girl and moves in the house next door. The 2nd POV is Darius. He's the father of the little girl. He is a therapist but a total sleaze. The 3rd POV is Jolene. She's the mom of the little girl and a writer. If you like to read Psyco erotica this one was a roller coaster of a ride!

This was a short, fun, thrilling read that I ate up in less than 48 hours

I loved this book. The only reason it got 4 stars rather than five was because I thought the ending was going to be a little bit bigger than it was. Or at least something bigger with the reveal that Fig thought Mercy was her own daughter. Instead, that was just thrown out there and a little underwhelming. I loved getting to know each of their point of views though. That really brought this book up to another level. I wish we could have had a little more from Darius's POV, but maybe that's just me.
