RE-Read April 2021: Still loving the cover art. Different perspective this time as a re-read, I was ready for it to be over so I could get to the next 3 books that I haven't read :). I am wondering if Zayden will become one of Mave's husbands? She brings him to the realization that he is just as much a male as ever even without the injury? Hmm. I tried really hard to avoid all spoilers, so I am just speculating since the author tends to want to lift up and strengthen the injured and downtrodden.

Interesting how they deal with their dead, a day of remembrance in which you can see them. Devastating for Mave. And Leria and Seanev- I can't help but wonder where that couple is taking things. Onward!

Original review: This story ended fast- I wasn't ready for it to be over! I knew I was close to the end but man, I was so into the story that I wasn't ready.
They finally march forward in the Rebellion, Mave has a "new" love, Rain & Alchan give in, new characters- its all so freaking good.
The story and world are great without too much extra weighing it down. No seven layers of hell to deal with and it keeps it light- in my opinion- and so the story clips along quickly for me.
I enjoyed how they can have hope as they move forward and I can't wait for the next book.

Holy smokes!!!! Not only does this book hit the ground running, it rarely stops. We have the ebbs and flows that are natural to Epic Fantasy, the pauses in the plot push where time moves forward, relationships are solidified and subtle motions are made... yet this IS THE book where the crux and heart of the metaplot is forged in iron and blood.

After deciding that just existing and saving the occasional Andinna slave wasn't enough anymore, the Ivory Shadow company, or rather, the Royal Guard, are stepping up and stepping in.... crafting a dangerous and bold rebellion against their Elvisi Overlords - and everything that they represent. It's brash, it's suicidal, and it's the only option they have left.

Mave truly makes large leaps forward in this installment, discovering who she is beyond the blade and grit. Her relationships are growing, adding hearts to the mix WE, as readers, may have seen coming, yet seem to surprise her with their reality. She needs it though, the love and comfort of a steady heart, and what a full Mayara (though it's not quite full yet, is it?) may mean for her and the rest of her men. It's emotional and raw, and breaks down what it means to really understand where another is coming from... and where they are going.

I can't wait to see what happens next!

**I received an ARC of this novel and am thrilled to share my honest opinion!**

Pros:
~ Mave is FINALLY letting go some of her anger and fear, stepping beyond her past and starting to see a way to a future where she can be the Andinna she is meant to be.
~ Alchan.... while I really want him with Mave, his Character Arc is divine.
~ Luykas - I adore that white winged fool.
~ Revelations: There are so many... but still quite a few questions left and new ones raised.
~ Family units. Enough said.
~ Epic Fantasy done right.

Cons:
~ Oh Mave... that last bit? What the heck are you thinking???

Perspective
~ Third Person, Multiple POV

Ending Type
~ Cliffhanger, episodic

Rating
~ R to Mature

Romantic Dynamic
~ MMMF (for now) Elsewhere, M/M

Character Age Range
~ 1000+

My FInal Verdict on The Rebel's Vision

I am head over heals in love with this series and recommend it to any and everyone! If you like fantasy, you'll love this. If you enjoy Reverse Harem, you'll love this. And if you just love complicated, deadly and political machinations and plots... you'll love this. Free on Kindle Unlimited.

This is midpoint of this series, and I am enjoying it more with each book. It starts off with Mave (MFC), not knowing about the society she was kidnapped from, so we learn about the world along with her. It was a good way to give the reader the information without it being an info dump which happens in many fantasy novels. By the time time book comes around we have a good grasp of the world but there is still more to be discovered. I also like that that book is told through multiple pov, not just Mave's. In this book we also have a viewpoint of the enemy, which I wonder if in future books will be used to "soften" our opinion on them. Highly recommend for fans of fantasy. Just read the trigger warnings before hand, I didn't think it was too heavy, but everyone has a different line in the sand.
