So.....you know how people say "I read a book in one sitting" well I mean it literally. I l did not move for the 2.5 hours it took me to smash through this book. It was so creepy, so fast paced, so.....gretchen mcneil....that I literally did not put it down until I had finished it! I cant believe this was sitting on my TBR shelf for this long.
The twist was genius, I was on the wrong track completely, there was someone acting strange one second normal the next and I thought it was them, and then at the end I peiced it together the same way Meg did.......and we were wrong. I look back now at the obvious difference in something thing I didnt think anything of at the time, but still....masterful and creepy as all hell!

This is one of those books that starts off okay, gets pretty intense & then, slowly dies down. As much as I want to like this book, I’m on the fence. I wasn’t crazy about the twist or the ending. It felt too rushed once you figure out who the killer is. It almost felt like once the twist occurred, the author didn’t really know where to take it. It was just okay.
But if you’re into teen thrillers, you’ll probably like it.

Update 7/26/22: I just finished a reread of this book and I actually enjoyed it more the second time around. Gretchen McNeil gave me all the 80s slasher vibes that I was dying to have. It was the perfect setting for this story and the characters fit so well that I couldn’t really find much about this book that I didn’t like. I did feel like some of the deaths happened without actually getting to know the characters but they are explained in some way through the rest of the book.
I thought this book was really good with the aspect of keeping you guessing through the entire thing until the killer is revealed. I really enjoyed Meg and TJ, but the rest of the cast just seemed like after thoughts which I can’t be too upset with considering they were kind of secondary characters. The second half of the book seemed more melded out than the first half, but all in all it was a great read for anyone that enjoys a good thriller.
