Read with the kid. A fun story for both of us.

Listened to the audio version and wonder if I would’ve enjoyed the book more in print. The story dragged a bit and some parts felt really predictable.

My son, a third-grader, picked out this book from the local bookstore. He loved it and wanted me to read it. I thought it was a fun read, especially as a nice, light summer read.

The story is told through two twins: one twin provides the book's text, while the other twin provided the book's pictures. There are 70 chapters in the book, but each is a short episode of their epic, treasure-hunting journey. It's good for reading a small bit when you only have a few moments to spare. Many of the chapters end on a slight cliff-hanger, which drives the reader to want consume more of the story.

I enjoyed reading this book, and when my son picks out the next in the series, I will most likely read that one, too.

A fun book to reread from my childhood. It's just as good as I remember.

Dated references and a grating style. No thanks.

For better or worse, we discuss all things James Patterson in this special episode of the All the Books Show podcast: https://soundcloud.com/allthebooks/episode-102-james-patterson-at-last

It won't qualify as great literature, but it was a fun action-packed adventure novel. I'm pretty sure I'm going to hand this one off to Bennett because I think he'd really like it.
