4 Sweet Stars!
Finally Mine is the second book in the Benevolence series and follows the story of Gloria and Aldo. Aldo has always been the hero. He fought hard for his country and now runs a successful business. The only thing he's missing is Gloria. Gloria fell for the wrong guy, but now that she's single again, Aldo isn't about to miss his shot...
Finally Mine is a terrific read from beginning to end. Fans of small-town, slow-burn romances won't want to miss this fabulous read.
*I was provided an ARC copy of this book via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review*

Gloria is so real for spending most of her inner monologue talking about how big his chest was.
This is a re-release of a 2018 book and the second in a series. I knew neither of those things when I requested it.

This book was blowing up my feed so I wanted to check it out. I know these characters are pretend but I can’t help being extremely proud of Gloria. Watching her fight her demons and winning, it’s pretty powerful. Aldo is pretty amazing too. Oh man his mother, she cracked me up. I really enjoyed this one.
I received this ARC and decided to give it a go even though as I mentioned in the first book's review they're older books being re-released. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first- these books have this weird patriotism subplot that I just don't get as a Canadian so it kind of took away from the experience for me. I also didn't like the repetitiveness of dialogue and scenarios from the first book since there was overlap- maybe if there had been some separation from my reading the two books but I hit them back to back so it was still fresh. I found myself skimming through those parts, which made up a fair portion of the book. I'll probably continue and read the third but won't rush to do so!
*thanks to SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books and netgalley for the ARC!*
okay so – what i didn't realize when i requested this on netgalley was that this is the same story as the first book set in benevolence, but told from the perspective of two other characters. you often see the same scenes and dialogue, but from the viewpoint of the other character in the scene. i love a good second story set around characters we already know, but i didn't love seeing the same story ~again~ from their perspective. i would've loved to see their story continue, and to learn more about everybody in town. in just didn't really seem necessary, especially since these are being reprinted, so i was reading them back to back.
