I absolutely love Lucy Score’s books, but this one felt very repetitive from the first book. It felt like the same story, just told from a different perspective. I knew exactly what was going to happen and there were no surprises. It was also quite slow. I’m looking forward to the next book as it shouldn’t be as repetitive.

I liked the book, but having reading the first in the series I felt like I knew exactly what was going to happen in the book so it didn’t bring much excitement
Such a beautiful love story between Gloria and Aldo. The trauma they both went through and overcame to be together was heartwarming to read. The only reason I had to give it 4 stars instead of 5 was the multiple repeated scenes from the first book. I still loved their love story and would 100% recommend
This is the second book in the Benevolence series, and I think it’s just not the series for me. I don’t enjoy the military storylines and the blatant abuse that is ignored by many of the characters and the town. I normally love Lucy Score’s books, but this series is not one I’d recommend. This book has a large amount of overlap with the first book, and I really don’t enjoy that with a series. It feels like you are reading the same book twice. However, if you enjoy a military romance, this may be the book for you!
Thank you to Lucy Score, Bloom Books, and Netgalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

This book is interspersed with chapters from therapy sessions, and all that content should be intuited from the regular text. Lucy Score must have expected a very lazy reader. I also thought the third-act kerfluffle felt forced and the reconciliation(s) simplistic.

At first I was disturbed by the idea of Aldo is declaring his crush of 10 years to Gloria but during that time he played around. Like what?
But I kept on going reading and I can't help to not love Aldo and Gloria. How they healed together and be for each other.
I give it 3 stars because.. this book is like a re-read story from the previous one. So I skip almost half of the book, knowing what would happen at some parts.

I've decided that Lucy Score is one of my favorite authors. I especially enjoy her heartwarming small-town romance novels. I was thrilled to learn that the second book in the
A beautiful story about a military man who loses a leg and a woman who stayed too long in an abusive relationship. Can they put aside their baggage and finally let love lead them? This book runs in the same timeline as Pretend Your Mine so you'll get some repeat scenes if you've read it, otherwise this can be a stand alone and you won't miss anything. But either way you are going to love this book. It's got some angst, it's got some humor, it's got the feels, everything you want in a book for strong women (and men) to overcome what they thing damages them.
