Such a tasty read!

Tom and Lyla are definitely something. Their relationship is very different from Jake and Tru's, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

The plot is easy to summarize (spiler alert):
Whoreman Tom has decided to change his life by becoming a single woman man. Which means no sleeping around. While Lyla is done with men and for a good reason. Her own brother slept with her boyfriend. But then she meets Tom "Rub the lamp" Carter and their magnetic attraction gets the better of the both of them.
They start as fuck buddies and after a lot of angts, cursing, making up and then back to fighting... and some terribly heartwrenching moments, they finally have their happy ending.

What was different about this book was that they didn't actually know each other like Jake and Tru so they got to discover the other one along the way. The "on tour" atmospheare was very heady and fun, and Cale, Sonny and Van were so sweet with Lyla. Of course sweet in a tough-rock-band-members way.

I believe one of the strong suits of this book was Tom's personality. He remains coherent throughout the whole book and he never loses his charm... can we call it charm? Maybe primal-raw-sexual-charge fits the idea better.
Lyla is a good match for him. She is feisty and indipendent and I love the fact that she's got no filters, though that's something she complains a lot about. Their relationship is hot and crackling with electricity, full of passion and strong feeling.

Samantha Towle created a great couple with an outstanding chemistry and, even if we don't get to see them being actually together (but in the epilogue), their love came through as something normal. And with normal I don't mean boring, but realistic, heartfelt. Like a natural step that was bound to happen since their first meeting. It only took them a lot to get there, you know.

So, yes, here's pretty much what I think of the book. It pains me to know that this is the last chapter of the Storm series, but I'll always keep these three little jewels close to my heart.

Thank you, Ms Towle.

I loved this book. I haven't read the first 2 in this series and this was a standalone so I wasn't as lost as I thought I would be. There were times when both the MC's got on my nerves but I chalked that up to the ability of the author to establish that often elusive connection to the h & H I've experienced in recent reads. This book was steamy as hell, the banter had me giggling and the angst gave me chest pains and had me trying to restrain myself from chucking my iPad against the wall in frustration. Needless to say this book gave me major feels! I loved everything about it. I will definitely read the first 2 books because I can't get enough of TMS. Standalone. Cheating?
SpoilerYes, the H did 'try' after breaking up with the h but he didn't go all the way & he made up for it by feeling guilty and confessing to the h - I would've loved if there was more groveling or that the h didn't forgive him so easily

Taming the Storm is the third and final book in The Storm series by Samantha Towle and begins with events found in the last few chapters of the second book, Wethering the Storm, and continues its own story thereafter. So, there are some shared moments between both books but it's interesting to get the different perspectives.

Tom Carter is as known for being a womanizer as he is for being a rock star and bassist of The Mighty Storm and makes no apologies for any of it. The only female to have ever turned him down (not just once but twice) is Lyla Summers, lead singer of up and coming band Vintage. When Tom temporarily takes over as Vintage's manager during their very first tour, he and Lyla are forced to be together in close quarters.

Lyla has sworn off men after a devastating betrayal and refuses to have anything to do with anyone she considers a "mut" (man slut). Tom just happens to be the poster child for muts all over. Hahaha! On the other hand, Tom made a vow to not engage in meaningless sex if God answered his one request. So, it shouldn't be difficult for Tom and Lyla to avoid any entanglements, romantic or otherwise, right? *insert mischievous smile*

When these two are together, you can almost imagine fireworks going off (yes, this is somewhat of a pun on Tom's nickname of "Firecracker" for Lyla...I have failed miserably). The back and forth is entertaining and the more intimate moments are H-O-T. Aside from the chemistry between the two, they both have back stories that have you feeling for them and Tom's, in particular, makes you understand why he's as screwed up as he is. Still, you can't help but fall for both Tom and Lyla nor can you stop yourself from wanting a happily-ever-after for them. ♥

Taming the Storm is my favorite The Storm novel and I personally felt it could be read as a stand-alone. However, if you enjoy your fair share of romance novels that involve a rock star, you may just want to grab all three of the books in the series (The Mighty Storm, Wethering the Storm, and Taming the Storm). ^.^

I'm giving this rock romance a 4.5-star rating, rounded off to five stars here on Goodreads, and happily include it in my list of favorite reads for 2014. ♥

This book was so much better then the first two books in the series. Tom was wonderful, dominate, and sexy as hell.

Okay, so I really didn't want to read tom's book, as I didn't really care for him in the previous novels.boy was I wrong. Absolutely loved this book and love this author.
