A dual POV book.

Tom, the cocky bandmate and friend of Jake from The Mighty Storm. Man slut and he wears it well. Becomes the tour manager for a newly signed band with a female lead singer.

Lyla, unfiltered, passionate and determined to keep Tom at arms length. She's a firecracker.

I fell in love with Tom in the first two books of this series and now, I love him even more with his fight for Lyla. These two cracked me up and gave me FEELS.

While this can be read as a stand alone, I would suggest reading the series in order.

I got caught in the story's emotional pull and chemistry between the characters. However, it was disappointing how clichéd and predictable the story went as it progressed and how there was no climax to make me go "oooooh, this story deserves a 4-star rating, at a minimum".

There is nothing like a good man-whore and Tom “Rub the Lamp” Carter DID NOT disappoint. He is a rockstar, a “mut”, an easy-going lovable guy. He is someone who would do anything for the people he cares for most. So, he strikes up a deal to change his “mut” ways.

Lyla “Firecraker” Summers is a lead singer for her band “Vintage”. After catching her boyfriend cheating, she decides that the last straw and sweats off men. (Metaphorical “Chasity Belt” and all) With her band about to go on tour, Lyla discovers that Tom Carter is going to be their tour manager for the six week stint. The last thing Lyla wants is a Man-Slut hanging around her band.

“You-you’re a…mother-effing mut!” I hiss. “Yeah, and you’re the sexiest fucking thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Sleep well, Firecracker.”

As the tour moves forward Lyla and Tom develop a friendship, with A LOT of sexual tension in the air. The more they spend time together the harder it is to keep things platonic. Their attraction in intense and their chemistry is EXPLOSIVE.

I absolutely adored Tom. He just kept you smiling the whole time. Sure, he was an asshole here and there but he made up for it when it counted.

Lyle was a lovable character. Even after all the shit that she had to endure throughout her life, I admired the way she pushed through.

“That this is it…you and me…we’re forever. You’re my heaven, Firecracker.”

Taming the Storm
Taming the Storm by Samantha Towle
3rd in a series, contemporary Rock Star Romance.
The Mighty Storm and Wethering the Storm are two of my favorite books. If there was one character I wanted a story about, it was Tom, the bass player for The Mighty Storm. He was always the horny, flirting comic relief of the first two angsty books, but you know that that comedy is covering up a lot more.

Taming the Storm by Samantha Towle brings us Tom's story. Though it can be read as a stand alone, it will spoil the previous books. I started Taming the Storm, and realized I should do a quick scan of Wethering the Storm. Taming starts with Tom making a promise to the big guy in the sky that he will change his whorey ways if  Tru pulls through. In fact, it has a few of the same scenes from Wethering from Tom's pov. I couldn't remember what happened so I needed to do a quick scan. Tom knows that Jake can't survive another loss in his life, so he makes a deal for his best friend.
"I'll live the life of a goddamn monk if you save Tru. I swear, I will only have sex with a woman if she really means something to me."
Did I actually say that--out loud?"

Lyla is the beautiful lead singer for Vintage, an up and coming band on TMS's label. Lyla is celibate for 10 months, swearing off men after a few crap experiences. She's happy with BOB (or ASBOF-Asexual Battery Operated Friend, as she calls it). After her brother and best friend betrayed her, Lyla is even more skittish with relationships and trust.

Vantage is about to head out on their first tour when their tour manager breaks her leg. So Tom fills in as tour manager for TMS records. Tom, the same guy that hit on Lyla relentlessly every time he saw her.
"Tom is an arrogant, sex-crazed mut (man-slut) whom I want nothing to do with."
"Only...Tom just happens to be a hot, arrogant, sex-crazed mut."

Immediately, the banter begins. First, Tom accuses Lyla of being a lesbian.
"God, you're an egotistical asshole, You ever consider that I wouldn't sleep with you because you're not my type?"
He scoffs. "Not possible, darlin'. I'm everyone's type."
Like I said, asshole.

As they share a tour bus, they also begin to share a friendship, and Lyla opens up to Tom the way she only has to 2 other people. But the flirt-fighting and banter continue.
"You-you're a...mother-effing mut!" I hiss.
"Yeah, and you're the sexiest fucking thing I've ever seen in my life. Sleep well, Firecracker."

The build up and flirting is so hot.
"I can smell your arousal from here. And it's making me hard, Ly. Rock. Fucking. Hard."

"I can't stop thinking about you. What it will feel like to be inside you. God, Ly, I can't stop imagining how sweet your pussy will taste on my tongue."

And when they actually get there, it's even hotter.
"Lose the panties, Firecracker. NOW."
"Stay exactly like this. I want you to watch the whole time I'm licking you until you come around my mouth. You close your eyes, and you don't get to come. Understand?"
"Good girl."

Though it may seem from this review that Taming the Storm is just a hot rock star book, Samantha makes it so much more.

Taming the Storm is a great addition to one of my favorite series. Samantha Towle knows how to weave a story with characters you love, banter to keep you smiling and totally hot sex. It was everything I could have hoped it would be.

Loved Tom's dirty mouth ;)

All of these are in my favorites! S T makes my book heart feel all warm and fuzzy. Nothing boring in any of her books. I can hardly put them down!

I thought this was pretty good. There were a few flaws here and there that were bothersome, but overall, the story was captivating and entertaining, which counts the most for me.

So for this book, Tom Carter, infamous man whore, basist of The Mighty Storm, meets his happily ever after. Technically, they met in a previous book, but this book showcases the real start of their "relationship". And I use that word lightly because Tom and Lyla's dynamic is typically tumultuous and crazy. They seem to bring out the worst and best in each other, which makes for an angsty story. Neither one really wants a relationship of any sort at first, because they both have their own fair share of baggage. However, their over-the-top chemistry eventually sways their wishes and puts them on a path to complicated feelings. However, their initial desires to not get emotionally entangled are still present and rear their heads when it's too late and they end up with a cobweb of issues to sort through.

I thought the book was a good fit for the main characters and proved to be very amusing for me, as the reader. It's sad that the series is ending, but nonetheless the right choice.

Best book of the series.
