Andrew sits in class and counts the freckles on other kids’ faces. He desperately wants freckles. An annoying girl in his class offers to give him a recipe for freckles for 50 cents. Will it give him freckles? What will the teacher do about it? (I loved her secret recipe).

The audio for this book is less than 20 minutes (5 short chapters).

“I have a secret recipe for freckles juice.” Ch 1
“He kept thinking about freckle juice. Maybe the reason no one in his family had freckles was because no one knew the secret recipe. If they never even heard of freckle juice, how could they have any freckles?” Ch 2

Judy Blume books were all I wanted to read in sixth grade. This was one of the first of her's I picked up.

It's been a while since I've read this book. Seems like I didnt like it when I read it. Can't remember what the book was about though. Guess it didn't make an impression on me.

A cute little chapter book that was able to keep my 5 year old son's interest, with plenty of pictures and humor. It's even short enough to read in one sitting, taking less than 30 minutes. We do enjoy Judy Blume. (Clark - March 2012)

*Read this to Jane (age 5) in 2 sittings. Plenty of pictures and interesting story. She thought it was too short. (Jane - April 2016)

**Jane and I read this together, each taking a turn to read a page. Interesting, beginning chapter book. (July 2017)
