This book is a great example of how people always think the grass is greener in someone else's yard. Andrew's mom makes him wash his neck and behind ears before school every morning. He notices Nicky, who sits in front of him in school, has freckles. He suddenly wishes he had freckles so that his mom wouldn't be able to see if his neck was dirty or not. The book is about the lengths Andrew goes to to get freckles. Along the way he learns important life lessons. The books is a quick read and humorous.
This was the first chapter book I ever read by myself as a kid, so it was fun to reread it with my kids.

I remember reading this book and thinking that Freckle Juice was soooo gross. The book was well written, perfect for children, but not for the easily queasy ones. I read this in class and had to do a project on it. Looking back this may have been one of my first novel studies.
It was a cute story :) Still don't remember reading it when I was a kid though!

A fast read that my kid and I got through in an afternoon. He thoroughly enjoyed it!
