I’ve never stayed up late at night to keep reading a short story collection until this book. Had to see what gorgeous and suspenseful worlds unfolded next. Wow! Literary, historical and full of meaning yet I didn’t find it dense or over my head at all. I loved the world-building through intricate details of mundane moments in human habitats and a deep reverence for the natural world. I believed the inner lives portrayed for all the characters. Each story echoed and left an imprint on my heart
