I was looking for something short and sweet; I definitely got the former šŸ˜‚

The intimacy Sean and Kate encapsulated felt incredibly human and I couldnā€™t stop reading šŸ˜³
IMAGINE A HUMAN AND A WOLF BRAIN LINKING UP LIKE THAT!

I also thoroughly appreciated Riyaā€™s honesty. I know Iā€™ve been Riya before so to watch her go through her and Seanā€™s relationship was difficult but necessary ā¤ļø

Iā€™ll be thinking about this book for a while I think. 4 out of 5 stars for me, thank you āœØ

Iā€™m not sure this is a ā€œfavoriteā€, but the crafting feels incredible and oh yeah, Iā€™m sobbing my eyes out.

(For anyone whoā€™s read Tamora Pierceā€™s Wolf Speaker - what if Daineā€™s relationship to the wolves was science and academic and parasocial and a tragedy for everyone involved?)

I really liked the concept of this and I thought the ending was realistic. The main character is not at all likeable, which is intentional, but I really had a hard time figuring out why that was, especially because their wife is portrayed as being really wonderful.  Not sure that storyline was really necessary, though it didnā€™t feel entirely out of place.

I feel like I was misguided(?) on what the book was about. They sold ā€œcrazy scientist & wolvesā€ to me and I got ā€œsad failing marriageā€ instead ā€” which was interesting but not what I was looking for tbh.

The premise is super cool, and the wolf pov descriptions are pretty amazing, but it felt like we only grazed the surface of most of the issues in the book, and considering the slow(er) pace of the story, I did miss some of the depth. It felt sort of incomplete to me (I was left with too many questions but no Rea feeling about most of them).

I saw a lot out people raving about the writing but I didnā€™t feel particularly connectedā€¦ I tend to like characters that are taking a deeper dive at the fall-into-madness arc, though. Not sure how I feel about this, but on an exploration level itā€™s interesting enough.
