this book was absolutely phenomenal!! i lost count of how many times i was either crying or my jaw was dropped.

the twist about gloria finding the contract and gemma being kris’s mother had my jaw on the floor. and nate’s speech had me in tears. this book was so perfect and i loved it so much

I had enjoyed Kris as a character from the first two books in the series, so I was excited to hear more about her (and her contentious relationship with her father and stepmothers). And I think Nate was a perfect match for her. However, it may have been the audiobook narrator's tone, but she came off as snootier than I would have liked during some parts of this book, so it made it a little harder to root for her as a protagonist. As for Nate, I feel like the male escort sideplot felt a little over-the-top and possibly unnecessary. But by the end, I think Kris and Nate were well-matched for each other!
