Reads like a middle school fan fic, complete with self insert characters, a victim complex, and enough metaphors to make it incomprehensible. A mystery novel that will have you wondering “wait, how old is this character?” “How is half the town part of the LGBTQIA+ community while also being judged by absolutely everybody else?” And “how is that guy super old and frail while also being the most attractive man in the whole town?”
A dark and tad twisty dark tale that beautifully sets the stage for an interesting story, but ultimately dwindles out too much in the end. Lots of potential, just didn't land right for me.

This one just wasn't for me. Usually violence doesn't bother me, but it felt gratuitous here, especially in the context of homophobia. I also didn't really understand what the book was trying to do. It felt like a draft of something that could have been great.
