This was perhaps the most 'strange' of all of the books I've read by Cecelia. It was mysterious and I honestly wasn't sure on completing it whether or not I had enjoyed, but I was compelled to complete the whole story.
hopeful lighthearted mysterious medium-paced

When I heard of this book, I knew it was a wonderful one from the very beginning. I just can't figure it out why....
Time after time, I read this book and finally found out that my instinct, the way I felt about this book was right. It is truly a gift for each of us, and every single one of us deserve to acknowledge it.
In other words, this book is truly thoughtful and meaningful. It teaches us about the importance of living life, the precious meaning of close people around to support us, which some of us may not notice. This book has really got me thinking again about my life, about what I have done and what I needed to appreciate.
I myself believe Cecelia Ahern really do inspire us with "The Gift"- her beautifully written story and I am hopefully looking forward to seeing her even just once in my life to tell her how grateful I am to have read this book.

Review - I loved the juxtaposition of Lou with Gabe. They were both so similar in a lot of ways, but it was clever of Ahern to so clearly emphasise their differences too. The Gift is definitely not my favourite Cecelia Ahern book. I much preferred P.S. I Love You and Where Rainbows End, but it is better than the likes of Thanks for the Memories. I was confused at the beginning, but I quickly got into the story, and loved the conclusion. Ahern is always very good at linking her stories into a wider moral consequence - this time it was TIME and how once it's gone you can't get it back so make the most of it. I don't know why it took me so long to get around to reading this book.

Ein Stern Abzug für das Ende. Da denkeich mir "Hey, zufällig ein weihnachtliches Hörbuch erwischt!" und dann sowas... Taschentücher bereithalten!
