Ultimately DNF’d because I’ve been pushing off renewing my loan for almost a year. Maybe someday I’ll come back to this, but I don’t think now is the time.

DNF at page 69.
Feels like she's just telling me about the books/movies/poetry/etc. that she's consumed in her life, and I just don't care.
slow-paced

I wanted to like this book (and the author has a lovely writing style) but it did not feel particularly accessible to someone who never studied philosophy. Additionally, the one essay that I did have a background in (on consent) didn’t really add much to the existing conversations that are happening. That said, I thought the first essay was engaging.

I borrowed this book from the library but I think I need to buy it so I can continue to grapple with it. This book challenged my thinking in many ways, but so often rang true. From minimalism, to mindfulness, to consent. Also, I’m inspired to get into films now as she critiques them so richly.
