Huh? I already finished this. Apparently, I haven't marked it "read" yet.

Anyway, this one was way better than Knight.

It never happened to me that I knew in 10 pages that one of the characters will be one my favorite. It also never happened that I knew that a book will be one of favorite in 30 pages. It happened with this book. I love Sylvie. Everything about her. It was very hard to read this story. I kept thinking "This book is killing me" I would have given this book 5* but the ending was too long for my taste but I was still glad that we got to enjoy the knowledge of how it ended from Creed's POV.

This was overly long, as a lot of her books tend to be, so it went from 3* to 2*. They're really enjoyable, but like a super rich dessert it needs stopping at the right time otherwise it gets too much. Too many convoluted sentences and chin lifting badassery is a bit of a turn off.....did I really just say that, WHAT is wrong with me?

3,5 stars. Not my favorite.

First I have to say I absolutely love Kristen Ashley and almost everything she writes, with that being said Creed was a little bit of a let down. My biggest problem was the repetitiveness, and their constant proclamations of undying love. Ok, we get it.. you guys missed each other, and love each other. Sheesh enough already.. I needed a lot more action, and a lot more variety of sex! The sex was kind of basic for an erotic romance. Other than that it works, and I look forward to the next in the series.
Creed & Sylvie grew up knowing they belonged together. They had plans to leave as soon as she turned eighteen, but Creed disappeared. Sixteen years later Sylvie is living in Denver working for Knight as a sort of enforcer, and go between between him and the ladies. When Knight receives word his old partner has plans to take back his business he brings in Creed to investigate. Creed doesn't know any of the players involved and is capable of getting the info needed without any bias.

****Spoilers****
On Sylvie's eighteenth birthday, her mega rich father picks Creed up and keeps him captive for a month. Throughout that time they tortured and starved him but he refused to give Sylvie up. Not until he is forced to watch another girl (who resembles Sylvie) raped repeatedly, and told Sylvie would suffer the same fate if he didn't disappear does he agree. Her father promised him that she would have a good life, but instead sold her to a drug dealer to cover his debt. For seven years Sylvie was beaten and raped until she finally killed him in self defense. She took off, learned self defense and became a hard core bad ass. She never knew what happened to Creed, only that he broke his promise and disappeared. When he comes back into her life, she won't let him explain, she only wants to discuss business. Eventually he breaks her down, he explains and they realized not only did they take a month from Creed, seven years from Sylvie, but sixteen years from the both of them. Creed has two children Kara and Brand with his ex wife, but they end up getting married and having four more of their own. Ashley didn't tell us the name of the last two, and I don't remember the names of the first two.

This book was like getting 2-for-1. You get the backstory of Creed & Sylvie when they were growing up. You find out what happened to them. You see the "ugly" that they came from. And you get the story where they find each other again, after 16 years. This isn't a pretty story by any means, but it's something that the world shows us all the time. Kristen Ashley just put it down in words. In such believable words that you might feel the need to stop and start this story. Again, this is not a pretty story. It's rough, it's ugly, and there are edges to it that make you shiver. Not in a good way. On the flip side, the romance of Creed & Sylvie is true. It's strong, it's amazing and it gave me shivers I felt all the way to my toes. Literally and figuratively. That's just how good they are together. Two people who fell in love in their childhood, fall in love in their adulthood and realize there really wasn't an "in between" that they didn't love each other. That in between time made them the people they are and make their life together that much better.

The rest of Knights crew is here, with just a touch of it to remind you that we are still in Denver and that this dark story line is still alive and kicking.

It's a great read but could have triggers for anyone who has been abused. So if that's you be wary.

5 Creed Stars

Have I said how much I love Kristen Ashley books? Well I haven’t said it today so I just did! I freaking loved this book.

Sylvie and Creed’s story will not only pull at your heartstrings it will make you want to cry and weep for them and with them.

At very tender ages they both had to deal with fighting parents and abuse in the home. So they would escape their houses for a sliver of peace. And one fateful night Creed found Sylvie and from then on they were each other’s safe place when there wasn’t one at home. This went on for years.

“Some people get to live life. Some people survive it. We’re survivors.”

Events beyond their control tear them apart in more than one way. And leaves both their hearts are broken.

Years go by and they both have their own lives. Sylvie is a kick ass girl who works for Knight. Yes ladies Knight makes a few appearances in this book. And Sylvie helps protect his girls. She has made a life for herself; she has 2 people who mean something to her. Knight and Charlene who lives next door with her 3 kids.

So when badass alpha male, Creed walks back in to her life to help with the situation that is more than Knights guys can handle. This brings Creed back in to Sylvie world, for the good and the bad. They have a whole lot of stuff to work through.

Things don’t go smooth but what romance would. We need the dirty and gritty to get to the so so sweet.
Creed has made some choices in his life and he has to live with them and if they hurt Sylvie they have to work through it. Life is not all sunshiny rainbows but if you work at you get to the sweet.

What can I say about Creed.. He is just so damn yummy. I love how he is just what Sylvie needs him to be and she in turn is that for Creed they just work.

Sometimes you have to weed through the shit to get to the good and that’s exactly what these two did.
“Born to love you, baby,” he repeated. “Die lovin’ you, my Sylvie.”

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion and I am allowed to have it.*

Creed was an emotional, painful, and passionate story and I loved every second. I loved Sylvie and Creed, learning all about them, and was caught up in the intensity of it all as they found their way back together.

Sylvie was fantastic. I loved her attitude and strength and I felt for her and all she endured in her past. Creed was amazing. I loved how much he overcame to make a better life for himself. I liked how this was told in a past and present format really getting to know them from the beginning, their bond, and friendship, and how it grew into so much more. I loved them reconnecting in the present day, I could feel that underlying tension between them. It built up bit by bit really pulling me in, I couldn't wait to find out everything and have them come out on the other side.

I thought this was an incredible story filled with so many layers and I loved the development and build. It was definitely intense, these two had some seriously bad things happen to them that aren’t for the faint of heart and I loved all the healing and growth that took place for them. It was emotional and drama-filled but it also had some really sweet moments and some playful ones too. There's a nice amount of sexy times as well which were super-hot and did not disappoint.

This was an awesome story from beginning to end with a wonderful epilogue. I love how it wrapped up and where everyone was at. I enjoyed all the different characters and loved seeing Knight again and learning about his relationship with Sylvie. I loved all the different bonds she had with her coworkers and friends and the special moments involved. It just made my heart happy. Excellent read!
