I thought this was a book 2 of another series by the author and didn’t realize it until I was already 2 chapters in. All in all, it didn’t seem to matter. I’m sure I missed things, but I didn’t actually miss them. I figured out the whodunnit, but had fun all the same.

It was nice to be in the world of ex-detective Hawthorne and his Watson, Horowitz. I found the whodunnit to be rather enjoyable as I was unable to figure it out before it was revealed. I do wish that we learned more about Hawthorne. He was only there for parts where the murder investigation was concerned. There was very little character development. I also found that this book mirrored the first one a little too closely.

What can I say? I’m a sucker for Anthony Horowitz. And this Hawthorne and Horowitz is just genius. Great detective fun.
