My Review (May Contain Spoilers, Fair Warning Upon Reading This Review)

Three Is A War is a continuation of this marvelous love triangle between these three individuals: Cole, Danni and Trace. Cole and Trace have kidnapped Danni to a remote cabin in the mountains where all three will live together and get to the bottom of their issues and what is truly right between these individuals. There is such great tension that grows between these all individuals. We really get to the bottom of their issues, we see a change in the bond between Cole and Trace which is utterly delightful. The previous book there was so much animosity, but in this one we see their true bond of friendship despite what is between them involving Danni. Then we have Danni who is still completely torn between these two men.

We do see this story quite resolved. And I liked that the author didn't leave one of them alone (As he has books in her Deliver series. I was satisfied with how this book ends. I feel like the author didn't go out the easy way but she also brought it to a conclusion that makes perfect sense. It definitely had plenty of feels in what we see these individuals go through in this one here. There is some wisdom in what the men display here and a maturity that we didn't quite get to see in the previous book which I highly appreciated. I really valued the development of the romance that occurs and even if you aren't a big fan of love triangles I do think that this one was so delicately handled and it does have some higher levels of spice than I would have liked. I did find that this final installment was satisfying and packed with feels.

I can't comprehend why this series is recommended all over tiktok and has such a high rating... I definitely wouldn't recommend this series to anyone I know.

This trilogy really should've been a duology. What was the point of book two if the first half of book three is practically the same thing? For 2.5 books she just goes in circles repeating the same thing over and over and over again with no progression to the plot. Danni is also always thinking about sex at the most inappropriate times. Is there no depth to her character? It seems all we really learned about her in 3 books is how submissive she is, likes to dance and just wants to fuck. That's it.

I started skimming the book because it felt so repetitive. I contemplated searching for spoilers but I really don't like not finishing books so I plowed through it.

"I gave you my heart. It was always yours to break."

Pam Godwin is a heinous, heinous person. (okay maybe not...but...) Clearly breaking my heart twice was not enough for her. No...She had to pulverize it too. If I thought it would help, I would go to war with her. I would fight for who I want. But the heart wants what the heart wants. We can't force it and that's what kills me.

Devastates me and leaves me a sobbing lump...It doesn't help that the music causes a soul destroying level of pain. It's perfectly choreographed with the words to cause the utmost damage. Together, they cause a bullet wound that bleeds out all over your chest. (bullet wound...tears...same thing)

Three Is War was hard for me to start because I knew it would have an ending. A devastating, heart breaking ending. I would like to say that I hate Ms. Goodwin but that would be a tangled lie... (see what I did there?) I would like to blame her for falling for two men...but it wasn't a choice. I gave them my heart. She just tore it to shreds.

I may have rooted for the other guy. I may still come up with a secret plan to heal his heart. (I think I'm the only one capable of such a mission.) I will never regret the Tangled Lies series even if my heart still hurts.

Oh and according to my husband, it's just a book stop crying! Pfft, men!

That was not the ending I was expecting...though I did enjoy a bit of where it went and understood the ending.

A LOVE TRIANGLE?? And I didnโ€™t hate it??!! ๐Ÿคฃ

She did it! Pam Godwin made a series with a Love Triangle that actually worked for me, one where you never knew who the MC was going to choose. And Iโ€™m happy to sayโ€ฆshe made the right choice!! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Iโ€™m not going into plot details, because you really should go in blind, but it was such an addicting trilogy, which I breezed through in less than 2 days.

And whew, let me tell you, the spice was spicing! ๐Ÿฅต

Even if you think you hate love triangles (I do!) this may be the book to change your mind!

Three is a War marks the end of the Tangled Lies trilogy. Danni has been torn between her first love, Cole, and the man who taught her to love again, Trace. The time has finally come to end this angst-filled love triangle. Who. Will. She. Choose? Dunh-dunh-duunnhh!

Danni is on an emotional roller coaster and, honestly, I didnโ€™t always enjoy taking that ride with her this time around. Sheโ€™s still incredibly indecisive, so once again I found myself having my feelings jerked up and down, then back and forth. Some actions she, Cole, and Trace take seem to be on the extreme/ridiculous side. All I know is my heart broke several times, and I felt emotionally exhausted by the end. Iโ€™m a card carrying member of the Angst Ho Club, so thatโ€™s saying a lot.

I enjoyed seeing the dominant side of Cole and Trace on full display. I must say these men bring sexy back in a big way! Thankfully, thereโ€™s a lack of manipulation and deception that was very present in the previous book. I finally came to the conclusion that both of them are decent men, and realistically there is no wrong choice; although, my heart was drawn to one man in particular.

More than ever, I loved, loved, loved how songs are thoughtfully selected and seamlessly integrated into the storyline. They add authenticity and weight to the charactersโ€™ emotions, as well as meaning to the plot.

Pam Godwinโ€™s writing, as always, is engrossing and keeps you on your toes. Throughout the series, she continues to build up the complexity of three characters who are drastically different but equally fascinating and relatable. Iโ€™ve got mad love for this author.

If youโ€™ve made it to Three is a War, Iโ€™m assuming you enjoy conflict, suspense, and lots of steam. Ultimately, I suspect how you feel about this conclusion may have more to do with which man youโ€™re rooting for than with the drawn out emotional nature of the story. I admit I had to read the last several chapters twice before I fully understood Danniโ€™s thought process. However, I do feel the author gives ample time for Danni to explore her feelings for both Trace and Cole and reach a reasonable conclusion.

If you like love triangles, I think you will find this to be an enjoyable series overall.

Just a bit too much angst for me... I am not a fan of love triangles and although this story kept me engaged, it was just too heartbreaking and unnecessary for me. It was well written and if you like this trope, you will enjoy it.
