Agatha Christie at her best, so many questions deviously answered simply. Perhaps some elements are bloated and unneedy. But a great read

It took me a solid week to finish this one, and that's telling. I got about 2/3 in and didn't feel the need to hurry back to finish it. The ending was rather unsatisfying as well.

First, let's address Maggie's death before we knew the killer. Poirot feels guilty, and HE SHOULD. He brought her into situation where (he thought) a killer was targeting Nick in ways that absolutely could harm others (falling rock, damaged brakes) and then he put her in Nick's bed after an attempt had already been made there (falling picture). WTF did you think would happen? The killer was suddenly going to become rational & cautious? My dude.

The three different mysteries actually *being* three different mysteries was meh. The blackmail note wasn't related to the missing will which wasn't related to the murder. Oh, and none of that is related to the drug smuggling.

The twist of Freddie seeming like a jerk but actually being right about Nick being a liar could have been fun, but all the other fluff just made it fall flat.
