I did not suspect it would be but this is one of the more eerie Poirot mysteries I've read im now spooked at 12:30am

Jakoś ciężko mi weszła. Chociaż zagadka fajna i setting fajny, to napięcia zabrakło...

Curious this one hasn't become a movie, when it's quite cinematic, with a beautiful locale, lively characters, and dramatic events. Poirot's ego gets bruised, while he misses the obvious lie.

“You have a tendency, Hastings, to prefer the least likely. That, no doubt, is from reading too many detective stories.”

Our favourite moustachioed Belgian is back on the scene and in full detection mode. At his side, the bumbling Hastings. This is another excellent mystery from the queen of the genre, combining a rather nasty evil plot with lighter and funny touches, usually in the form of Poirot being his usual obnoxious self to the detriment of Hastings.

"Poirot," I said. "I have been thinking."
"An admirable exercise my friend. Continue it.”
