All of Christie's characters are truly and awfully stereotypical in a way I can only read as an anthropological look into the white British minds of the early 1900s.
The end of this story exemplifies something I love so much about how Agatha crafts her mysteries. There was one unresolved piece of the story - a pretty small and non-essential unanswered question - and I feared that it would never be explained. But of course on the very last page - maybe last paragraph even - Agatha ties it up! So cleverly and knowingly. That confidence that at the end you'll know the answers is just so incredibly comforting.

Maybe just because I hadn't read one in a while but this one felt a bit more gripping and fun to read then the last few Poirot I've attempted. Also Poirot and Hastings are a hoot here, roasting each other endlessly throughout the novel. Quite enjoyable
