I chose this Christie for my reading list because it was one of the highest rated books I hadn't read yet. While it wasn't as strikingly marvelous as The Mysterious Affair At Styles, the tone was great and the ending, per usual, was completely cohesive and caught me completely off guard.

مسلية لكن بوارو هنا مزعج خصوصًا عند كشف اللغز في نهاية الرواية
Not my favourite Poirot, but still kept me guessing most of the way through. (This time I spotted the culprit before the end!) The characters are constantly in crises of confidence throughout this novel and I feel that this may have mirrored the author's anxieties.

One of Agatha Christie’s great, but perhaps less appreciated mysteries.

Poirot and Hastings are having little vacation together. Nothing could possibly go wrong. Until poirot comes across a beautiful young woman named Nick who recently had few encounters with death. One actually In front of Poirot himself when Nick misses bullet which was about to hit her. Then Poirot decides to take matters in his own hands and tries to solve it.
One thing I loved most about this book is how clever the culprit is. Culprit manages to keep in Poirot guessing who and why is doing this.
However, clever it maybe it becomes pretty clear to guess who has done it. And yet when Poirot explains it, it is simply remarkable.
5 stars not for Poirot but for culprit for clever planning.

Looks like Poirot is getting older, but still a great book. Agatha Christie knows how to deceive people :)
One woman has a brush with death 4 different times. Who wants to kill her? Who wants her old crumbly mansion? Will the 5th time be successful?
I thought the twist of Nick being the perpetrator was genius! Piorot got bamboozled. So engrossing. My only gripe is it lost its pace close to the end.
