Boston lifestyle influencer Melanie ends up in a run-down bed and breakfast in Nova Scotia with a surly innkeeper fisherman and his cousin. I love a good enemies-to-lovers-forced-proximity-fake-dating. I also loved the description of the nature, sea, and the inn. Makes me want to go on a trip and explore nature. I felt that Evan's insisting she had to move to him and not the other way was a bit lame. But luckily, he realised that himself, and I think their compromise was a good one.

— so like the last 2 amy lea books ive read / that she published , i enjoyed this book alot. This book has plus size rep & asian rep and i love that. Amy lea has quickly became one of my auto buy authors .
— anyways i loved melanie and evan they were so cute together. i loved the banter. Evan starts off really grumpy but throughout the book we get to see his true soft , sweet and caring side.
this book is a small town, fastburn, fake relationship romance book - it takes place mostly over 2 weeks.
i related to melanie a bit with the fear of spiders.
this book really reminded me alot of tessa baileys bellinger series because its set in a small town & like evan is a fisherman . ( which was a change from the last 2 mmcs of amy leas books who were firemen)
Evan said some of the sweetest things he had me blushing and giggling . As usual this book was a one pov book. it was from melanies perspective but it was so nice to get evans pov in the epilogue. — i absolutely love men written by amy lea they always know what to say . they literally are the best
i enjoysd the whole family being there thing.
- i still think grandma knew before them.
— these two fell in love in a week
— Evan went from grumpy asshole to a sweet and kind man !!! ( i love him)
— i absolutely loves the whealer family they were literally such an amazing part of this book.
i loved seeing tara and crystal appear in this book again ( especially since i read their books last month) i love them so much.
AMY LEA IS PRO Palestinian which is amazing!!
i highly recommend this book to people who liked tessa baileys bellinger sisters series or enjoyed amy leas last two books. — i loved MELANIE SO MUCH SHE WAS SO RELATABLE NGL ( with her insecurities ect)
i am so glad to have read this book it was literally one of my fave reads this 2024
this was such a cozy read
i adored this book as much as the last 2 . and i am excited for amy lea next book!!!

Very cute romance! The "big city girl learns the meaning of life and falls in love in a small town" is (generally) one of my least favorite tropes - but the author manages to to strike a good balance between letting the main character experience some growth by stepping outside her usual experiences and still not diminishing the importance of her existing job or the life she built back in Boston. I appreciated the compromise at the end for the couple to split their time between the two locations. A little unrealistic? Sure. But hey, it's a rom-com. Let them have their unrealistic HEA.
