After reading "The Island" this felt like de ja vu, though I think I preferred this as the characters felt a little more relatable. Still, it felt blah - put names & places in chick-lit blender and mix
Also, will my life not be fulfilled until I can cook? All of these books make it seem like you can't truly be happy until you're roasting radishes and creating savory broths...

A quick easy read about a mother and two daughters. I didn't particularly like or relate to any of the three primary female characters. This is unusual for me with Weiner books so I think I didn't emotionally invest in the outcome because I didn't care that much about them!

This was the worst Jennifer Weiner book that I have read.

This was definitely my favorite of her books by a lot! Definitely recommend it for anyone who needs a good read for the upcoming beach season. Light but still thought-provoking in a "what would I do.." sort of way.

This was book 100 of age 26, read on day 365 of being 26! Excellent timing, and excellent read. I always love J Weiner, and this book didn't disappoint. Lots of descritpion (especially of food!), vivid and sympathetic characters, and plenty of romance, a little drama, and a lot of family love. awesome last book of my year :)

I love Weiner's characters. You absolutely care about them and are interested in how their lives turn out. The ending was a bit predictable and I wish the story would have gone a bit deeper into the Mother's life. A very good read.

At first I thought this was too similar to other stories of cheater-politician wives. However, I understand Weiner wrote it quite a while ago, so maybe she was actually ahead of the curve. Even so, I didn't think this was her best work; it was hard to identify with Sylvie and Lizzie, at least for me, and I didn't necessarily see the love between Sylvie and Richard. Also, the plot was paced somewhat strangely - slow in parts and then unnecessarily skipping time in other parts. I thought it was a little strange how there were several noticeable editing errors, which were distracting at times. Overall, though, it kept my attention and the characters were likeable and sympathetic. I wanted to keep reading to see how things turned out.

This was an interesting book that looked at the wife and daughters of a politician that was caught having an affair. I really enjoyed how each chapter was told from the point of view of one of the women so you got to experience the novel from three different points of view. Overall it was a well written book that I enjoyed reading.

This was my first reading of Jennifer Weiner, who I've heard about for years and always meant to read, and I was vastly unimpressed. It was long, it was overall very boring, and her writing style was relatively bland.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It follows a 57 year old woman and her two daughters through some tough times.
