Savage Tracker
The Ivanov Family (Mafia Wars, Book 5)
By: Maggie Cole
Narrated by: Wen Ross, Kai Kennicott

Maggie Cole! This was an amazing listen! The final chapter in the Ivanov family part of Mafia Wars, we are treated to Obrecht's story. The Savage Tracker is a strong, alpha dom, but when he meets Selena we get to see a different side of him. Selena has come out of an abusive marriage, and is having difficulty adjusting to her new life. After years of physical and mental abuse, it isn't easy for her to move on. Obrecht's frustration is evident at times, but his incredible patience and determination to help her is beyond beautiful. These two share a connection like none of the other couples. Their frank discussion and honesty had me captivated throughout the story. Add in the family dynamic of the Ivanov mother, the garage, the deal with Liam and the explosive ending of the story are all reasons I love this series. All the books are set at during the same timeline, which is so much fun, as we get to see and remember the others as their stories also came together. This is a fantastic series and I think this is my favorite couple so far! I can't wait to see where the O'Malley faction is going to take us next!

Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross are one of my favorite teams, and their performance of this book is fantastic! Kennicott plays Selena, her accent spot on and her brokenness coming through with ease. But what I truly loved was the underlying strength she has in her voice letting us know exactly the kind of woman Selena is. Complimenting her performance, Wen uses his Russian accent, one of my favorites of his, as Obrecht. The alpha male is protective, yet Ross comes through with a tenderness that is unmistakably beautiful. I loved their portrayal of the story!

I’m just going to keep saying this until this series catches on, but it’s a master class in mafia romance. This book was no exception. Out of all of the characters, Obrecht intrigued me the least, but his story has jumped to be my favorite. Seeing his tenderness and care with Selena is so beautiful. I loved watching him in that role after seeing him so buttoned up and cold in the other books. So much depth to this story.
The spice in this one js amaaaaaazing. All of the books in this series are spicy but this one is top tier. Loved it so much!

I was convinced this would be the best of the series to date and I was right! Obrecht Ivanov was quite the character, Maggie Cole really pulled out her skills with him! He was sweet, possessive, kinky, tough, total alpha male, but gooey inside. The way he approached his relationship with Selena was amazing. After her abusive relationship with her ex-husband who is still searching for her Selena was beyond fragile, the poor girl was lost.
Needless to say, this book got steamy like all the others in the series.... but this one..... holy crap it got hot!!
There are definitely things in this book that might not appeal to those with triggers, but if you have none then READ THIS BOOK!!!

I cannot wait to read Liam's story next!!!

5+ What an incredible age gap romance. Obrecht is super alpha and Selena is fresh out of the most disgusting abusive marriage. Obrecht is everything she needs to heal. I learned so much from this book about the BDSM world but in a way I was good with. The characters, the world, the writing and the stories are great. Hope we see more of the Russians as I move into the Irish Mob arc of this series.

Savage Tracker is the fifth book in the Mafia Wars series. This is my favorite book of the series by far! Obrecht and Selena’s love story is the hottest and most intriguing I encountered during this series and I cannot get enough of it! I definitely recommend this series to anyone.
