Well I've been to a high school reunion, and while it was crazy, it wasn't THIS crazy! I enjoyed this book. The chapters were short, and there were lots of twists and turns. I did not see that ending coming. I had so many thoughts about what was going on, but I was SO wrong.
The writing had me gripped. The plot was delivered in such a tense way. I was wondering the entire book what was going to happen. I enjoyed following the dual POVs. Overall a good read.
I also think I'm skipping the next reunion!
Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for this ARC in exchange for my honest and voluntary review.

Although the concept was interesting, I felt a little underwhelmed by the end. The main character is a bit unreliable, and the side characters were more relatable. The flow of the storyline is smooth and keeps you guessing what's going to happen next.
I honestly don't know if I would recommend this or not. Guess it kind of depends on who it was, and if I felt like they would differently than I. I do have other books by Shalini Boland on my TBR this year, so I haven't given up on her. She has potential to be a future favorite.
Its not her writing that makes me give this a 3 star rating.. it was Chloe. You'll understand why.

Chloe Flynn, divorced, broken and underachieving at work, recieves an invitation to her school reunion. She is reluctant to revisit the years of bullying, a twisted ex and 15 year old secrets that she'd much rather stay buried but she is swayed by the hope of reconnecting with old friends and Nathan, the one that got away. However, if the threatening emails are anything to go by, someone clearly doesn't want Chloe to attend and as the evening progresses secrets begin to emerge... Nothing is what it seems and nothing will ever be the same again!
Dean Bradley, a grieving, single dad who's last construction job left him riddled with debt. He is determined to make the one who ruined his life pay, whatever the cost and nothing is going to stand in his way.
Review- This was a fast paced read (at only 220 pages long) told in dual POV's, as well as snippets in the past from a mystery POV. At first the connection between all 3 leaves you guessing but come the second half and revealed pretty quick, with one twist after another. Although I had already worked out all but 1 reveal, it still had me hooked but i did expect it to be a little darker. What let it down for me though was the ending, it was very abrupt and frustrating, all i kept thinking was "Is That It?!". I even had to check the last few pages to make sure I hadn't missed any😅

This was an easy read, not sure why it’s classed as a physiological thriller as there wasn’t many thrills.
I did like the multiple POVs and the slow build. It kept me entertained.

I was very kindly sent The School Reunion by Tandem Collective for part of a readalong. All opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed how fast and easy to read this was. The characters were written well. The plot was intriguing and gripping, it did get a little far fetched in certain areas but overall still really enjoyable.

Don't ya just love a fast paced thriller with a mind blowing unique ending!!!
So the story alternates between multiple characters and really none of them are particularly likeable if I had to choose my favourite character is Dean, you can kind of tell he's trying to do the right thing but just goes the wrong way about it. His heart is in a good place I guess.
The story itself was a bit slow to begin but it soon had me flipping through the pages as it builds. Something was going to happen at the reunion... but what??
Keeping this review short and sweet because it'd be too easy to give the secrets away. It's dark twisty and captivating, it's a must read for any thriller fans. I'm sure you'll be as gobsmacked as I was.
Thank you to Tandem Collective, Shalini Boland and Amazon Publishing for the gifted book and readalong opportunity.
