The story alternates between two characters, Chloe and Dean. Chloe is trying to get on with her life but not really getting anywhere after recently being divorced and whilst she didn’t love her time at school, when she gets an invite to her school reunion, she decides to go as it will be a chance to see Nathan who she had a crush on.
Dean is a single dad who is desperately trying to make ends meet. I really felt for him as he isn’t having an easy time of it and just wants to do the best for his son. He seems to be getting hit by life from all sides and I was praying that things would get better for him.
It soon becomes apparent that someone doesn’t want Chloe at the reunion and it raised questions in my head as to who and why. There are some seriously unlikeable characters in the story who I was praying would get their comeuppance. I couldn’t wait for the night of the school reunion as you know that something bad is going to happen and boy did it have my heart racing.
The School Reunion is yet another brilliant psychological thriller by Shalini Boland. Delightfully dark and twisted and oh my goodness, those twists, especially the last one, my jaw was well and truly on the floor! The author never fails to shock me and I was on an absolute high after finishing it as the adrenaline took a while to settle down afterwards. You never know what to expect when you are turning the pages and I have to read them in one sitting as they are far too good to put down. Fabulous!

This book from start to finish had me HOOKED. I really struggled to stick to the readalong scheduled for this one, but I did it!
This addictive thriller kept me wanting more right from the off. From flawed characters to an unreliable narrator, I was kept guessing right until the very end.
THAT ENDING!! Surely the book can’t end this way, I need more!! The last chapter had my heart racing, unable to process the climactic events in the final chapter.
I felt like I was throw into the book, becoming a witness to all the events that occurred throughout this book, that is a huge credit to Boland for creating such an immersive story with her writing style and tense atmosphere throughout.
I will DEFINITELY be picking more books up by this author. I cannot get enough!!

Gripping, didn't want to stop reading. The chapters are quite short and fast paced so you do zoom through it.
I didn't want to attend a school reunion, and this hasn't convinced me otherwise.
I did guess a lot of it, but that ending was perfect in a lot of ways. Though it definitely leaves you wanting more!
Most of the characters are rather vile, but I quite liked that. Always good to see your name in print - though I hope that's where the similarities end.
This was my first by the author and I will be looking at others now.
