Read this years ago, it was gifted to me by my Grandmother. Really inspired me to get into reading and writing. Loved it :)
I'm using lots of pieces of this for an upper elementary writer's workshop. Entertaining as well as informative, it's aimed at the students themselves rather than the instructor. Thinking I need to try some of their suggestions myself!
This book has been very helpful to me and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for help in the writing process. The authors were funny and brilliant, and their hilarious metaphors got their point across in a way that didn't feel condescending. Absolutely loved it!

This is a fantastic read for any young reader who is aspiring to become a published writer at some point in their life. The two authors use short passages to address many different topics that a young writer may be interested in (i.e. narrative voice, writer's block, and how to start). The chapters also end with prompts and writing exercises that are interesting and inspiring. Through these passages and prompts the reader gets a heartfelt guide that will make even the most hesitant writer pick up their pencil.
