Spilling Ink is a comprehensive guide for the young writer. This book is filled with advice and tips as well as "I Dare You" writing prompts. A great reference for any classroom, though I think a little too weighty for my 4th graders as a stand-alone read. We'll see. I'll definitely be adding it to my library and using bits and pieces in my own writing and teaching.

Full of writing exercises, tips, and helpful anecdotes, "Spilling Ink" is a useful and fun guide for aspiring authors. Perfect for any middle-grade reader interested in creative writing.

This was AMAZING!!!! I wish Anne and Ellen would write another handbook, even if I didn't need it! I absolutely LOVED this book, it was hilarious and I loved the art style! I'm always going to use this when I'm in a writing crisis! :D
informative inspiring lighthearted medium-paced

Geared towards young writers, this book has some good exercises and tips for getting started.

It's been a while since I read this one but it's a good book on writing geared toward young adults.

Fun and helpful! Gives every tip a young writer would need to know.

This a great book just not to be consumed all in one sitting, as I have done for the last 200 pages. I think this would be great to read to students just before a big writing project or as an opener to class every day in the beginning of the school year.

Very inspiring and helpful to a young writer

This book was funny, wise, and easy to understand.
