Es interesante, pero me dejo con gusto a poco. El final, después de que se resuelve todo, es demasiado extenso y me resulto un poco extenuante. La mayoría de los plots ya los sabia, tengo que verificar si por la sinopsis que viene con el libro o que.

Finished Dan Brown's 2009 novel "The Lost Symbol". He's no Bill Bryson but he definitely knows how to write a page-turner. This thriller deals with Masonic rituals and ancient wisdom that is hidden somewhere in Washington D.C. Was a bit disappointed towards the end -- "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels & Demons" are much better books -- but if you were happy with "Inferno", you might just enjoy looking for "The Lost Symbol".

This books was pretty good. It was full of action. 3.5 stars

I enjoyed The DaVinci Code and Angels & Demons, but this book.... not really a fan. The dialogue was repetitive, the suspense was dry, and I honestly felt it was a bit preachy - particularly at the end. I was bored throughout most of the book. And, for the record, I thought that the “threat to national security” was utterly lame.

FINALLY finished! On to Game of Thrones!

This one is my favorite Dan Brown book.

I love that Robert didn't have an unnecessary love connection in this one.
adventurous mysterious tense fast-paced

Brown's novels are fascinating for the way they bring cities to life, not just the way that his well-crafted thrillers keep my attention. In this novel, Washington DC's features come to the fore. The Capitol, the Library of Congress, and a number of other local features related to the Masons are key players in the plot (and just about as well characterized).

Oh yeah, there is a thriller going on here, and the "mystery" is an obsessed, tattooed man willing to destroy the nation's leaders to gain mystical powers. Compared with Angels & Demons (the papacy) and Da Vinci Code (Opus Dei), Lost Symbol is on shakier ground because the powers under advisement are almost completely supernatural, which means that Brown's realism is sure to disappoint in the end.

What I'll remember about The Lost Symbol will be the landmarks of D.C., in particular the last scene: the sun rising over the top of the Washington Monument. What I'll soon forget will be the various masonic conspiracies that ultimately reveal nothing.

Very well written! I love Dan Brown...part conspiracy theory and intrigue and part historical fiction.
