My best friend is Danish and he always boasts about his culture. I was excited to learn some new things about the Danish way of life. I love the wholesome and warm language that Wiking used to explain customs and traditions. All thats left to do is visit and put all of what I've learn into true perspective, that would be hyggeligt.

Cute! I enjoyed learning about this concept and love the idea of adding a little more Hygge into my life.
Hygge is a way of life. This book tells the how and why, with cultural background of its origins. It's perfect for you if you love in-depth studies of topics, community, and culture. It delves into a study of happiness, why the Danes have it in spades, and how to have more of it in life. A worthwhile read whether you know about hygge yet or not!

Advice: Add candles, eat delicious warm foods and snacks, light fires, read books, visit with friends and family and snuggle. Not a bad reminder, but no real life changing advice here. Did not mention cozy hobbies like sewing, quilting, knitting, etc.,

Unbeknownst to me, I have had a passion for all things hygge my entire life. I love coffee, books, wood, fires, cuddling, candles...heck, I keep the lights in my office at work so low that people tease me saying I work in the dark. But I truly work better in the warmth of a few lamps then the harsh lights of the fluorescent bulbs. It was a joy to find that there is a whole term and way of life for these things that I have always loved. I look forward to continue to make my life more hyggelite.

Life-changing. The book illustrated a lifestyle and aesthetic I was striving for but didn't have the word for it. I've even adapted the word "hygge" into my everyday vocabulary. A beautifully balanced book of stories, stats, and humour.
