The author has a good sense of humor. An easy read on a lovely subject.

Quite repetitive. But it is probably a newer concept if you don't live in Denmark
Let's face it, Hygge is hot right now. This little sweet book might be a cash grab, but it had me grinning ear to ear. There are some great ideas for how and why we need hygge (or what I best describe as comforting coziness) in our lives. Wool socks, hot tea, cake and friends. Just thinking about these joys lowers stress!
While I love considering this... concept? Method? Way of life?, I'm left bemoaning that Danish gift of healthy work-life balance. Same as reading The Year of Living Danishly, I love the notion that in a small country, most people can bike or walk to work and offices shut down at 5pm. Work on weekend? NEVER. That does A LOT for your life when you and all your hyggelud buddies can camp all weekend, but it's just not so easy in MY life.
Anyway, read the book for adorable drawings and crafts. Listen to audio to hear the author pronounce all those words that make Danish sound like "speaking German with a hot potato in your mouth".

Quick listen on audiobook. Was nice to hear about ways we can be intentional in the colder/darker months, focus on gratitude, incorporate simple living, and strive for sustainable relationships and happiness.
(more like a 3.5/5 ☆)
An interesting non-fiction about the hygge lifestyle of the Danes and one I really, really enjoyed, considering my passion for the Nordic countries.
It is, however, a nice read overall, reminding people that happiness can be found in the simplest of things while also giving them the best example for it: that of the happiest people in the world, according to various researches.
All in all, I would recommend this book if it caught your attention!

This was a nice relaxing non-fiction book that served a little bit like case study of traditional Danish culture with some lovely photographs. The book was a nice bedtime read and included some insight on how to live a more content life.
I read this throughout the darkest part of winter and it was just
I listened to the audiobook and loved it. The whole thing just felt like a hug
