I got this book as part of a book exchange in my office at work.

My first impressions were that I thought the premise sounded very intriguing and original, and the first few chapters I was hooked. I genuinely wanted to find out why Flora's children hadn't appeared to have aged in the 12 years since her ex-best friend, Beth, had last seen them.

However, as the story unfolded, I felt that it got more ridiculous and more far fetched after every page. I also found it quite repetitive and a few things happened in the middle of the book which I thought were totally unnecessary and didn't really add anything to the book - (the 'incident' with Zannah's teacher, for example).

That been said, I can't deny the fact that I was kept in suspense throughout the whole book (hence the ⭐️⭐️⭐️) even if the second half of the book was so implausible. It turned out to be one of those typical, easy-read crime thrillers that I will probably have forgotten about by this time next week.
