I'm updating my review to note that the author is a zionist. Now that I'm aware of this, I will not be reading more of his work.

Man this was long. I was a little nervous to take this book on because of the length, but I'm really glad I did. And I'm actually looking forward to the next one even though it's longer. I enjoyed this book more than I did the last one. One of my ongoing gripes is with Shallan in general. She's such a weak annoying character, and I always struggle with her, but she wasn't so bad in this one. Much more tollerable. This book had all the action and story and twists and tension as the other three, but this book also dealth a lot more with mental health than the others, and I think Sanderson handled it well. I enjoyed getting to know the characters even better. Venli's storyline was particularly interesting. I may have also cried at certain losses. Overall this book was just really well done and well written.

Rhythm of War by Brandon Sanderson is book 4 in The Stormlight Archive series. Continuing right after Oathbringer ends we have are favorite characters coming back and some new characters being introduced.
What a freaking book. My favorite of the Stormlight Archive so far. I really felt like this book solidified this series for me. The last three books I enjoyed but I didn’t really feel connected to the characters and the moving parts were hard to focus on. This book though really brought it all together for me.
Shallan’s arc was seriously amazing. Her struggle and her strength are so prevalent in this book. She really grapples with who she is, her identity, and what she is really fighting for. Adolin and her are everything. We get more LIFT! My favorite character for sure in these books she is so interesting. Never know what she is going to do.
Almost done with this series. One more book left!
