This book was a light, fluffy, fun read. Honestly, in the beginning I wasn't sure I could continue - the way the character dialogue and the way the characters speak was driving me crazy. This book is obviously tailored to women, and a certain type of woman, but it was cumbersome to plow through the beginning.

Once I got the hang of (i.e. learned to tolerate) these characters, the book became entertaining and I really enjoyed the last half. Honestly, Jack's brothers are probably the only characters I found even slightly relatable, but again, it didn't stop me from enjoying the book.

I read it all in one day, and the ending was a nice surprise. All in all, it was good.

This was a book club selection. I've read some of her humor but not her fiction.

Thought this book was a fun read. Liked the premise of the two old friends who parted ways, and Sars/Betsy who was their link to each other.

Lots of things I didn't expect, and I think she tied it up nicely at the end!

Fun book. I thought the ending felt rushed but I still enjoyed it. I liked the main characters.

The Best of Enemies starts out with a fluffy chick lit feel, which was all I was expecting when I picked it up. I enjoyed the little snippets of flashbacks showing how the two main characters relationship had developed over the years. Somewhere in the middle, the story twisted and became more of a mystery. The plot thickened, the pace picked up and I found it difficult to put down. Although the two main characters didn't like each other, I liked both of them and was glad I wasn't caught up in their feud. I'd hate to have to choose sides.

This was the first of Jen's books I've read and I'd be interested to see what else she has published. I listened to the audiobook edition. The narrator was fantastic.

I'm a fan of Jen Lancaster's writing style in her memoirs, so I figured I'd give her fiction a try and I was not disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, to the point that I was trying to read at stoplights so I could finish it. I laughed out loud at times from the unbelievable silliness that Kitty and Jack engage in due to a 20 year old feud. At first I was annoyed by the 2 heroines, particularly Kitty, and their intense disdain for people who were different from themselves. It quickly became evident that they each hated the attributes of the other reflected in the people around them. The best thing about this book is just when you think you know where it's going, it takes a turn and leaves your mouth on the floor.

This book started off great, then got really slow and boring. I almost quit reading. Im glad I stuck with it and finished it, the twist at the end was a surprise!
