Favorite book of era 2
The wider cosmere shit in this story is really great. Wayne is great. Wax is great. Everything in the book is just well done.
Looking back on all of era 2 as a whole, I appreciate it a lot, but I realize that the more than anything concerning the actual story there (which is good don't get me wrong) is that I just love the concept and wider context surrounding mistborn as a series. I love seeing this world progress from what era 1 was. I love seeing it build to what era 3 is going to be. I love seeing how it fits as a puzzle piece into the wider cosmere shit with the ghostbloods being lead by kelsier. I love seeing the continued expansion of one of my favorite power systems ever. I love the climax.
I was disappointed in how little focus there was on the southern countries. I am disappointed in the villain being lowkey lackluster yet again. I am disappointed that the story is very by the books and didn't blow me away with an epic climax or scope or moment like I would get from a stormlight or era 1, but that's unfair.
I liked this book more than warbreaker, perhaps even more than final empire.

Episches Finale voller Action und viel Ideenspielraum für weitere Cosmere-Verknüpfungen.

I did like this book. At this point, it felt comfortable being with the characters after 4 books and I’d compare it to watching a decent sitcom. I liked the characters, enjoyed watching their plot lines develop, but for me the Wax and Wayne series never really lived up to the heights of era one. It was an enjoyable small scale view of the Cosmere which typically operates on ridiculous scales of grandiosity, but I do feel like the larger than life nature of the Cosmere is it’s best aspect.

Never thought I’d become more attached to the characters from this series than the characters from the first. Yeah I was wrong. This book further goes on to prove how good Brandon Sanderson is at writing satisfying conclusions to his stories. If I had to sum up my feelings in one sentence: “ain’t no fellow who regretted giving it one extra shake, but you can bet every guy has regretted giving one too few.” I’m gonna miss these characters so much.
