I loved the story between Archer and Bridget. Bridget tries to do whatever she can to stop Archer's advances. Including breaking her butt... yes you read that right. That is what starts all of the chemistry to reignite between the two. Bridget has turned herself off from the potential of a serious relationship because of what Archer did when they were younger, he just disappeared.

Archer's goal, was to fulfill his father's requirements and then go back and get the woman he loves back, from the second he left. Bridget didn't know that and spent the last four years miserable and self reliant. Archer will do whatever he can in order to win her back, including climb a totem pole in front of the town.

I love this series, the characters of the town are like a big family everyone is there for one another. They even work together to help Archer win Bridget back. When Bridget hurts her butt, he is there to help take care of her and buys her special things to help her heal. When things are at the worst it could be, she admits her feelings and they find their HEA. Archer and Bridget's story is cute!

This book was ok. It was over the top with the spiciness. The characters were cute but at times acted very immature.

This is my first time reading the books on this series. You might lose a little backstory, but she did a good job of having this be able to be read a stand alone.
Not sure how to clarify this one, second chance romance and to fit best.
Bridget Shanahan is trying to act like the grown up and drop with her bad habits. This become near impossible when her past walks into the bar. Archer Ellison had upended his life to come to Captivity Alaska. He knows how to push all her buttons, he's spent the last four years working his way back to her. But Bridget wants none of it and tries to keep him at arms length while still reeling him in close to satisfy the one thing that was never wrong with their relationship. As tension continues she may have to relent and realize part of growing up is forgiveness, both to yourself and those who love you.

This is a good second chance romance. Bridget and Archer had a good story. Archer is in Captive to win back Bridget's heart. Bridget is having a hard time opening up to Archer. Neither has gotten over their feelings for each other.

These two go through a lot of situations, family drama, and misunderstandings in order to find their way back to each other. I wish we would've gotten a little more in the epilogue. It really is more for setting up Lilah's book.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Playing Dirty in Alaska gets five enthusiastic stars from this reader! I loved how Archer and Bridget found their way back to each other. I love the town of Captivity and it's residents and hope that there will be many, many more books to come.

Archer and Bridget's story hit all the high points of the very best second chance romances for me. From the very first interaction, they lit up the page with their chemistry and great banter. Archer's determination to prove that Bridget was his number one priority—and his willingness to accept that he needed to make amends for not prioritizing her four years prior—is what makes him one of my favorite types of heroes. He's got a goal to win back his place in Bridget's heart and he will do whatever it takes to make that happen. I definitely swooned over his level of commitment to his plan.

Bridget's a heroine you'll root for from page one. She's smart, she's always up for a challenge, and her loyalty and love for her friends and family are abundant. Given her recent grief, and the stress of working to cover the family business, it's understandable that her walls—where Archer is concerned—are thick and wide. Bridget's cautious, but she's not petty. She accepts Archer's help—knowing he has an ulterior motive—and is willing to see how things play out so long as it's at her choosing.

The romance between this couple was satisfyingly sweet and sexy. I adored their banter just as much as I loved their quiet moments together. The ending...sigh. I had tears in my eyes and felt as though my heart might jump right out of my chest. It was so perfect. I'm really looking forward to seeing this couple again in the next book of the series.

Last year, I had the pleasure of discovering Samanthe through the first book in this series, Wild In Captivity, venturing into the previously mentioned novel to discover the world of Captivity, Alaska, and its residents within.

Wild In Captivity earned a very generous 4 star rating from me, so I was keen to see if this read could go that one step further and push through to earn my first five star rating of the year.

Read on to find out!

Playing Dirty in Alaska is a long-ish book that is worth every second reading it. I had a fabulous introduction into the world of Captivity thanks to book one, but book two is where things happened and when things kick into extra gear and get interesting.

The dynamic between the main characters, Bridget and Archer, was just off the charts! With the two of them already having past connections with one another as outlined in the blurb, the fire between them was hardly out but had been set to a simmer. Captivity allows for that simmer to be fuelled into an inferno as the book progresses and once more, they're drawn towards one another via the forced proximity route.

After all, there's only one--of a very few things--to do when forced into a proximal space together. That's right, things get steamy!

Things were tame in comparison with the first book compared to how they are in this one and admittedly so, I like it! The chemistry, both physical and emotional between Archer and Bridget was written beyond perfectly and when we were treated to the physical coming together of the characters again and earlier than expected--which again is a good thing--, my own socks were knocked off along with their own. I love it when scenes get so intense that I have to stop, breathe, and re-read what made me stop and Samanthe certainly delivered plenty of those moments! W-to-the-oah!

All of the above aside, I genuinely enjoyed the storyline and I think I would have done even if I hadn't already been introduced to the world of Captivity thanks to the first book. This is a story so genuine and realistic, everything flows well with one another. From the plot, to the characters, to the way the book is read, I both wanted to savour the story I was reading and hurry it up to its end so I can see if I would get the HEA I knew from the beginning I wanted.

I'm beyond glad that I got to discover Samanthe last year, and this series is definitely getting better as the books go on.

5 Stars!

Archer and Bridget knew each other prior with major history. One that Bridget doesn’t want to repeat unlike Archer who isn’t one to let things go. This was a great story and a even better addition to the previous book. I’m hoping for a third

I received this ARC and I am voluntarily reviewing this book.

Playing Dirty in Alaska is a well-written, fun, sexy, banter filled second-chance romance. That easily pulled me in, thanks to two main characters who had bags of chemistry, little angst and plenty of interesting secondary characters. And I would happily recommend it to others.
