I really wanted to like this book! The fact that the leads were poc gay women is amazing and i hope that this genre sees more diversity in the future (and that there are authors of move diverse experiences, i feel like most romance authors that i see are white middle ages suburbanites). But these factors couldn't make me enjoy this book: the characters have exactly no chemistry and their relationship's development was incredibly patchy. If I didn't get otherwise occupied around this time, I probably would've finished the book. I don't expect it would've changed my review though.

This was a sweet book about two people who view each other as rivals and fall in love. They have a history before working together that I actually liked and found interesting to hear about. In the end the balance each other out.
You should read this if you like queer women loving on each other, some family drama, and growth within characters.
