I think this is one of the most useful books for someone with my background. It's been so hard for me to have compassion towards myself. With the perspective and information in this book, I feel that softening a good bit, which is encouraging.

A validating resource that helped me name, recognize and connect the dots between some of my own experiences and patterns. At times it was triggering and difficult to get through, but the book also prompted a lot of healthy reflection and things to bring up in therapy.
