I received this copy from Goodreads first reads.

For the most part, I liked this follow-up to "The Rosie Project." I liked seeing how Don and Rosie were faring, and liked the cast of side characters. However, I found the book also made me oddly sad and anxious. And while Don was usually the one messing things up, it was Rosie with whom I was most frustrated.

Unfortunately not as good as the first instalment. It even got a bit annoying in parts where I felt the actions of the characters just didn't make sense. Humorous in parts but would prefer that the series ends here if the author intends to carry on this vein!

I liked the first one way better. This one was was just trying too hard.

I became really attached to Don in this book (even though I spent most of my time reading a tad stressed). I found Rosie, however, to be a horrid person for the majority of the novel. Everything worked out in the end, but overall, I felt like Rosie was the one undeserving of Don, not the other way around.

Not nearly as entertaining as the Rosie Project. In fact, it was sad....

I loved, loved, loved [b:The Rosie Project|16181775|The Rosie Project (Don Tillman #1)|Graeme Simsion|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1371651741s/16181775.jpg|22084678].

The Rosie Effect was a big disappointment for me. I wish I would have stopped with the first book. The things I loved about The Rosie Project – namely Don and Rosie’s relationship – were ruined in this book. Rosie’s character especially.

To see what worked for me (not much) and what didn't (Rosie), you can see my review at Hidden Staircase.

This sequel was equally well narrated as an audiobook as the first one. Albeit at times a little unbelievable, it was funny in many parts and overall an entertaining read.
