i thought that this book was a nice and unique look at time travel and making sure that history happens the way it is supposed to.
I enjoyed the adventure and fantasy in this first novel in the series. This author has a great style of writing. The chapters alternate between Ethan and Isabel's point of view and really add to the characters in the story.

I'm hovering between giving this book two stars or three stars, because I'm having incredibly mixed feelings. The time-travelling premise is an interesting concept and has SUCH huge potential to be turned into a good story - travelling through time not to change events but to make sure they stay the same to prevent an evil goddess from taking control in the future by feeding evil, malice... typical evil bad guy stuff. And there are other basic fantasy elements - a prophecy, good vs evil, etc. But the style of the story is quite immature, even though the characters are around 16 years old, and I honestly can't understand why the author felt the need to add retarded elements of romance that don't seem to quite fit. The plot is also quite predictable, you can figure out the "mystery" right away! But I kept on reading because it was a very easy read and the story had such potential. Characters were also flat-out dull, sort of like the boring characters in Percy Jackson. I will still finish the series though, because it doesn't suck too badly.
