This book seemed to have a slow start, but it got good quickly. I love all the time-traveling in this story to keep our present as we know it from being altered. The story involving the characters seemed a little immature for me, but perfect for high school-aged students. At the same time, it's a perfect balance with the problems they have to solve and personal issues. Everything has a purpose, and it came together beautifully. I'm looking forward to starting the second book.
I didn't even finish this book. I only read about 90 pages before I decided that I wasn't going to read anymore of it.
Sure, the beginning made it seem somewhat interesting, but the more I read, the more I hated it.
I disliked Ethan and Isabel (and pretty much only in Wuthering Heights can you dislike all the characters but still love it). Isabel just picked up on things too fast, and I hated that fact.
I felt like there were too many cliches in those ninety pages that interfered with anything that could have been considered original.

So I read this book when I was in 7th grade and all I had remembered from it was that I really liked it. I decided to re-read it and see how it went.
For starters, I want to say that I did like the book and I can see why I liked it in 7th grade. It was cool. It is a great fantasy book, full of action and magic. The thing about it now though is that the way it's written made me feel that it's probably not for my age level anymore. Another problem I had was that the author used the same words over and over and I also felt the book should have been longer to give the reader a chance to take everything in. I felt the author rushed through everything and the reader didn't fully get to experience what was happening throughout the story.

flippin' amazing! brilliant read! had me reading every minute i got.
Couldn't get interested in this book. Perhaps I'll try again another time... but for now, it's definitely not my thing.
I could not stop reading this series. I think i re-read each book three times. Time travel... HOW COOL!
Just as great as I remember, despite the flaws I didn't notice when I first picked this book up as a child. I have no idea why I only read the first book and not the whole trilogy, but I'm definitely going to rectify that very soon.
