As companion books to series go, this is on par with what you expect. The chapters dissect the fantasy of the first season of The Crown and bring in the actual history it is based on. Highlighted sections are scattered throughout the book of the "background" players in the story. If you want to delve even more into the world of The Crown, I would recommend it.

It's written very accessibly, which is nice. Very focused on the crown tv show, and not necessarily informative beyond explaining the episodes.

I really enjoyed this book companion to the great netflix series The Crown. It was clearly lays out the difference between fact and fiction and certainly gave me a better understanding of the shows events and how history has played out in Queen Elizabeth II's reign. I hope they make similar companion piece for the second season.
What an awesome and fascinating book: comparing and contrasting the Crown show with the reality of history, complete with photos of show characters and their real life counterparts. LOVED IT. Can't wait for volume II!!!
