Not your typical vampire story--especially with the oodles of vampire romances that have been written recently. I just wish it had been somewhat longer and the ending a bit more developed.

I loved it, I didn't realize when this was written in 1999, the author was only 14, never would I have guessed, it read as an adult novel, minus the sex but the writing was good. I will be picking up the next one as I understand there are quite a few books in this series. As long as the story stays good, I will continue on with it. What a wonderful example for kids that aspire to be authors

It’s a good short read. I first read this book when I was in high school and loved it, going back to it and reading as adults I do see a lot of flaws in it.

This was a reread, I last read it as a teen. It's pretty good, especially considering the author wrote it when they were 13. The overall story is reflecting on the main characters past. For the most part it's hard to tell that the book was written by someone so young. But there are a few phrases that stick out as immature. There are some references to later books,so it'll be interesting to see how they're tied in.
I am rounding up to 3.5 stars.

I absolutely loved it then for all the reasons most 13 year olds did because they were obsessed with vampires. Also too the author was 13 when she wrote it and it was liking reading a piece of yourself.
Adult me loves it for the nostalgia that it gives me. Obviously I can tell that it was written by a 13 year old but I love all the feelings it invokes.

Yup, still love it. This book is like home to me, there's no way I can write an impartial review. I'm so happy I'm still able to love and enjoy it after all these years.
