Honestly, I used to love reading sweet Christian romances but I just don’t think they are the right genere for me anymore. The book concept I thought was interesting but I had a hard time getting hooked by the actual story.
Also, a lot of the plot devices seemed a bit contrived and the big tense scene doesn’t even really get fully resolved (someone gets hurt and it’s clear they are ok but there isn’t a good circle back). Plus, one of the main characters mother is in an unhealthy relationship and she makes a comment about how she’s just accepted she won’t have a healthy marriage but she’s got God so that’s ok…and that does not sit well with me at all. All of that made it hard for me to really enjoy this book.

Great read....but why do authors have to give guys long hair? Ugh
“Deep Haven is a great place for second chances.”
I couldn’t wait to get back to Deep Haven tonight!
This story features two outsiders who are hoping to find a sense of belonging in Deep Haven.
Ella Bradley is trying to make it on her own and comes up against all kinds of roadblocks. When she meets Adrian Vassos her life quickly spirals downwards until fate throws the two of them together and they decide to join forces.
Adrian has been trying to break free of his brother’s influence and the hold his father has on him. He’s often misunderstood, even when he’s trying to do the right thing. Running into his date’s sister at a gala event changes his life.
It is always wonderful to meet up with characters from earlier in the series and see how they’re doing. The different authors in this series ensure variety and I love it!
This retooled fairytale is wonderful. Despite knowing how it’ll probably end, there are enough unforeseen twists to keep readers engaged. I just had to know if Cinder-Ella got her prince!
This is book 2 of the Deep Haven series, but it can be read as a standalone. I read it through the Amazon Kindle Unlimited program.

Fun part of this spin off series written by new authors. They captured the flavor of the area, although you could tell it had a different author.
Perfectly perfect return to my favorite spot! Loved Ella and Adrian, and thoroughly enjoyed watching their journey.

I usually really like this author, don’t judge her work off this book alone!
I found the plot line unrealistic on this one. As someone who makes and sells handmade products, there’s no way she would have been able to afford a storefront or just magically startup a business in a town with occasional customers.
It also really kills the fairy tale feel to hear someone constantly talking about cleaning chemicals.
I read fluffy books like this to escape and didn’t find the characters or the plot developed enough to make up for the other flaws mentioned.

Can't Buy Me Love (Deep Haven Collection Book 2) by Susan May Warren, Andrea Christenson – This is on kindle unlimited. Both of them have to deal with their fathers’ baggage if they want the chance to break free and find their own dreams! I love this community! Happy Reading!
Ella and her prince aren't the usual fairy tale couple with their troublesome "misunderstandings" with the law.
I didn't like Ella at first and I did like Adrian with a dislike of Della's assumptions.
Soon Ella rose to the challenge and became a heroine I could like and even connected.
The story was somewhat lighthearted due to Adrian's way of always joking and yet somewhat sad with Ella's past along with the misunderstandings and the lies that got about.
Over all, this modern fairy tale is quite cute and one that romance lovers will enjoy with the message of hope woven through.
18+ die to attraction and a side character's inappropriate actions.
I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary e/copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

A sweet and adorable story. Ella is a great character and I liked the Cinderella type storyline. This book has heart and humor which is my favorite combination. Looking forward to the rest of this series!
