Interesting book with interesting ideas. Well developed with typical Maureen humor. I liked it.

Interesting to see similarities between this book and her Shades of London series. Similar snarky humor and classic school setting.

If you put yourself as a high school student or you are a high school, you might enjoy reading this. A hilarious, captivating and mystery reads of high school drama. I choose this book because of the cover. A perfect cover to woo the targeted audience. I could say it's a typical plot of being popular in school, get a boyfriend and deal with teenager mess, but what makes it different is when it happens in a Catholic school and there's something to do with magic. It reminds me of Teen Spirit.

This is a fun and light read that telling you about a Catholic high school girl, Jane that tried to save her outcast best friend, Allison, that suddenly changes into a new person after knowing a new girl, Lanalee. Jane discovered that Allison made a deal with a demon.

Truly, I'd say I don't really enjoy the ending, but because it's not a big deal. It doesn't ruin the story at all. Most at the end of the chapter will be a cliffhanger which is good because it makes you want to read more, but I don't really find the answer for a certain part.

There's also a minor printing error, I guess because I can spot a few of typography and slight grammatical error. It's might cause a little confusion when a new character introduced whether they are she or he.

Overall, I really enjoy reading Devilish. I barely get bored while reading this, especially when you found a trigger. It's a light and relax to read.

Girl sells her soul to the devil for a chance to be more popular. Kind of odd and not great, honestly.

Fun, fast, and yes, devilish. Jane Jarvis is exactly as smart, sarcastic, and perplexed as a good teenaged heroine should be. The secondary characters are great, and I wish they got more face time, but this was a quick, fun, engaging book that was as delicious and frivolous as the cupcake on the cover.

I liked the idea of this book, but as usual, I didn't like how it was executed. The main character is supposed to be a senior in high school, and while I know it's young adult, I felt like it was overly childish. The characters are all so calm about living in a world with demons, and all of the apparent plot twists and surprises didn't shock me at all.

Jane wants one thing: for her best friend, Ally, to gain confidence. When her wish seems to have come true and Ally is suddenly confident and dazzling, Jane suspects that there’s more to this change than meets the eye. Ally has sold her soul to the devil and Jane is the only one with the power to save her, but if she fails, they are all doomed.

Review contains mild spoilers from this point on.

I loved that Jane’s voice is witty and sarcastic with an edge; I found myself laughing with her over and over. However, It’s very hard to enjoy witty prose when everyone is being an idiot. The characters with all of the info that Jane needs never seem to give her the practical solution and basically tell her that she has to go along with the demon’s plans. Yet Ally finds a way to foil the demon herself, another way… All the plot holes… Why would the author bother to set up these apparently concrete paranormal rules just to have her main character foil them all? It seemed like a waste of my time as a reader and left a bad taste in my mouth. Additionally, the whole reason Jane is in this predicament is because of her "best friend" Ally, who I couldn't stand. So the novel overall just didn't come together for me.
