I loved this, even more than I thought I would. The spice was great, which was to be expected. However, something that I could not predict was how emotional this book would get. Reading what Sean was going through, especially his POV at the end, broke my heart and had me near to tears. This was partly because of how much I loved Sean. He was not perfect, and had flaws, but he was able to reflect on what he was doing and the way he developed as a character and grew into himself was amazing. As someone who is not religious, it was interesting to see his relationship with God and religion compared to Zenny who was ready to be a nun and seemed certain through most of the book. My one issue with this book is the fact we didn't get Zenny's POV. This led to her decision at the end feeling a bit like it came out of nowhere. It is also surprising given that their arrangement was created for her to question her resolve to become a nun but we never saw any of it, which was definitely a missed opportunity. Overall, this was brilliant and I am really excited to pick up the last book in the series and then maybe more from this author once I am done with that.

Once again, I have a hard time figuring out how I want to rate this book. I simultaneously want to rate it higher and lower.

First, I’m not a big fan of age gap relationships in general but especially when the pair knew each other when they were younger. They’re both consenting adults when they get together but knowing the history they’ve got gives me the ick. MMC has known FMC since she was born and he’s 15 years older than her. It’s not my favorite but it’s fiction, so whatever

Next: the smut. On one hand, as far as smut books go, I felt like it took too long to get to the good stuff (and  honestly the good stuff felt mid to  me). The first book went too fast imo and it feels like this one over corrected. On the other hand, good on the MMC for taking his time with an inexperienced woman and making sure she was comfortable and everything was enthusiastically consenting. We stan Sean for this

Which brings me to my praise: I liked Sean as a character. I’m not big into the rich f**kboy thing but despite Sean’s own estimations of himself and his behavior, when it comes down to it, he’s a gentleman. I also found him to be less inconsistent than his brother was in the first book. I can’t believe I came to like Sean better than Tyler but here we are

I also liked the plot better in this book than its predecessor. I felt like it flowed better. I won’t spoil anything but the ending was overall good with only one thing that I didn’t care for

While there were things I didn’t care for, it was overall an enjoyable read and I have the next book in the series already on my end table

This is the second time I am reading the Priest series...because I enjoyed it the first time so much. It's not just because of the taboo sex throughout the series.

One of the main reasons I like this series is because works through the complicated feelings and emotions each one of the Bell brothers have about the Catholic Church and their own beliefs in God
after their sister's suicide after she was abused by their parish priest.a

Sean is the classic rich guy who values money, power, and one night stands over having an actual connection with someone. It's easier to keep someone at arms length than to let them in and get hurt.

Zenny challenging him through out the book helps him become a better man. He helps her realize that becoming a nun might not be the right path for her in the end.

I know some people might have an issue with the age gap...but she's 21 and everything they do is consensual so I have no problem. I also love a best friend's sibling romance.

This time I'm listening to the audio book....and I give Jacob Morgan an A+ as the narrator.
