Absolutley fantastic read. Elton has always been one of my favorite musicians and hearing his story was a wonderful experience. Well written, beautiful and but also sad.

This is an absolute must-read for any Elton John fan (or honestly, anyone who likes a good autobiography/memoir). Packed to the brim with fascinating stories, perspectives, and life lessons. Elton has lived a crazy, fascinating life and I am so grateful he chose to share some of it here. This will have you on the edge of your seat, whether you're reading to hear more about the music, Elton's personal life, the industry throughout his career, the LGBTQ+ experience over the decades, and more.
I listened to the audiobook, read by Taron Egerton, and he did a phenomenal job. I'm a big fan of the Rocketman movie, so this felt like a more in-depth extension of that in some ways. He really nails Elton's voice and keeps the narrative so alive.
I can't recommend this book enough. I might just buy a physical copy for my bookshelf, because it's one of my favorites!

I read the audiobook of this and it made me love this story even more. To use the actor that portrayed you in screen as your voice makes sense for this story. Reading about an artist makes you appreciate their art more and more when you learn about the hardships they faced. Elton’s life took so many turn and the ending makes all his trials worth it. This book opened my eyes to the truth of being musician. It seems like a lifestyle I would like but also one that would break me and tear me down the way it does to most celebrities.
This is undoubtedly one of the best, if not the best, autobiographies I have ever read. Nobody could accuse of Elton John of holding back and his honesty about both himself and his life is refreshing and fascinating. Could not recommend highly enough to everyone and anyone.

A movie and a biography all within a year or so, that's quite a lot for such a private celebrity. But to say I didn't love hearing the stories of Elton John's past would be a lie. The guitarist with a chicken fetish will never leave my mind, no matter how old I become or how many things I see and books I read, I will always remember the chicken fetish.
